With lockdown restrictions eased in April, it was quickly full steam ahead here at the park!
However, with a nationwide shortage of products from food & drink to building supplies and even new caravans, it has been a challenge at times!
With your patience and understanding, eventually a good season was had by everyone.
It just leaves me to say a big thank-you from all the team and wish you A Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

General Manager
What a fantastic year 2021 has been for welcoming new and old holiday home owners to SWLP and Waterford. Sales have grown from the previous season and the unprecedented demand for new and used holiday homes has left us with very little stock on our sales ground.
With foreign travel still very uncertain and the ever-increasing demand for holidays in the UK, we have ordered more new holiday homes than ever before which will be arriving very soon. Keep an eye out on our website and socials for updates.
We are always looking for quality used stock and we can offer very competitive part exchange prices.
If 2022 is to be anything like the season we have just had, you may want to register your interest with the Sales Team now so you don’t miss out on fantastic offers we have coming available.
For any enquiries please contact either Mark or Sam.

We would like to start by thanking all our customers for their ongoing support, helping us provide a safe and peaceful getaway in what has been a difficult and unusual year for us all.
Whilst we've closed our gates for the season we're certainly not letting the grass grow under our feet... work has already begun on the new fencing across the paddock working it's way down the river bank, driving past you might even spot Chef Tom out in his Hi-Vis!
We had a great time at the end-of-season party and look forward to welcoming you all back on the 1st March.
From us all, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
On behalf of myself and my team, I would like to thank you, our loyal customers for supporting us through a very difficult time.
I hope we have offered a safe meeting place for you all and rest assured we have lots planned for next season, from themed party nights and lots of great entertainment!
I and the rest of the team would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year, lets shake this pandemic off, party and make memories in 2022.
Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

The wonderful heritage railway steaming along the west side of the Park is hoping to run more trains in 2022 after a record year in 2021, when services resumed after the covid pandemic and when so many more people from all over Britain enjoyed staycations in Lincolnshire and discovered the Park.
The Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway was the very first heritage railway in the whole world to be built by enthusiasts when it opened on its original site near Cleethorpes in 1960. Since moving to the Park, it’s been enjoyed by more and more people each year. (The second such line, the Ocean Beach Railway, opened in New Zealand in 1963 – so our railway is a real pioneer in every sense).
It’s helped of course that many trains are operated by the beautifully-restored 1903-vintage steam engine Jurassic and that the collection of eight of the Simplex-type diesel locos are all in running order – a sturdy design that can be traced back to the trench railways of the First World War battlefields. Indeed, one of the carriages and many of the other rail vehicles can also be traced to that conflict – making the railway a “must-see” for so many. Look out for the shrapnel holes inflicted by German artillery on the disabled-access carriage #2572!
The LCLR is operated entirely by unpaid volunteers who often travel long distances to maintain and operate its trains; much is owned by its charitable trust and the line itself is operated by the company set up in 1960.
So in 2022 expect to see trains operating from 11.00 am to around 3.45 pm on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 16th July to 3rd September; it’s hoped when the nation celebrates the Platinum Anniversary of HM The Queen’s Accession with an elongated bank holiday, that trains will also run on Thursday 2nd June and Saturday 4th June. It’s hoped to run a new service on August Mondays from 8th to 22nd or possibly 29th August) and also in the October half-term holidays. If the Park hosts another Classic Wheels event in mid-September, then trains will run as part of that.
Keep an eye on the LCLR’s website and on its Facebook Page for confirmation of dates and extra days (often announced at short notice) – and you can find out there how to be part of this unique and wonderful railway in the Skegness Water Leisure Park.
If you’re over 18, you too could be a driver, fireman, guard, booking clerk or help to restore and renovate the LCLR’s unique collection.

As with last year (2020), Covid has once again played a part in the restoration and altered what work we have been able to do. But saying this, it has allowed us to concentrate more on tackling the ongoing corrosion problem and several smaller jobs. One of those smaller jobs being getting the aircraft ready to accept a replica missile.
Over the winter the main project was to build a replica Firestreak missile to sit on the Starboard side of the aircraft. We are pleased to say the missile is fully built and awaiting paint before being mounted to the aircraft at a future date. The aircraft mechanism itself which the missile mounts to, has been fully stripped and is now once again in full working order.
The main priority of the summer months has again been tackling the internal corrosion, we have identified the key areas we want to tackle and have everything in place ready to start in the spring. As with most things of this age the corrosion issue is an ongoing issue, but a plan is in place to tackle the problem and lessen its impact over the coming years.
Looking forward to next year along with the corrosion work, we hope to make a start on some of the electrics. We plan to start with the landing lights and move on to the strobes, so watch this space.

Maybe you have been lucky enough to see some of nature’s wonders at the Park? If so, we are excited to announce that we will be launching a seasonal Nature newsletter in 2022 and a customer Photo competition. We will also be starting work on the Park Nature Trail next year (2022) to help you see who you are sharing the Park with!
You can sign-up to our mailing list or keep an eye on social media to be notified once it's launched!
These photos were taken by a member of our team on their phone, on ordinary walks within the Park and boundary trees, included in the images is a beautiful Barn Owl, a brave Muntjac Deer, Great Spotted Woodpecker feeding it’s chick and a magnificent Speckled Wood Butterfly.
In the post-COP25 world, we will be assessing how we can further help the planet through how we operate the Parks but we would really appreciate your help in helping us to log what other amazing wildlife is living among us, hence the photo competitions and prizes that we will be offering.
We are very proud that so many wildlife call our Park “home” and our aim is to make this even more so.
